America’s leading wireless carrier, AT&T, has reached a deal with the New York Times that will allow cell phone users to access a mobile version of the paper at no extra charge.
AT&T’s mobile data customers will be able to browse in-depth news, business, politics, sports, and entertainment articles on the New York Times’ mobile website.
“Consumers want immediate access to breaking news, and a wireless handset is a powerful tool for staying connected and informed, regardless of where people are,” commented AT&T’s vice president of consumer data, Mark Collins. “The New York Times is the most trafficked newspaper Web site in the country, and we’re giving our customers an easy way to connect to it through AT&T wireless devices.”
The NYTimes.com website received 17.2 million unique visitors in December 2007, according to data from Nielsen Online.
