Bell Mobility, the wireless arm of Canada’s biggest phone company, has selected FusionOne to provide a new service to backup and restore mobile contacts lists.
FusionOne’s MightyBackup software is now being pre-loaded on Bell Mobility’s newest phones, and will help customers restore their digital address books if their handsets are lost, stolen, damaged, or need to be upgraded.
Bell is the first wireless carrier in Canada to launch a mobile backup service, and the first ever to pre-install the MightyBackup service on its handsets.
“We are very pleased to introduce FusionOne’s comprehensive address book backup and restore services to Canada,” stated Bell Mobility’s director of product management, Nauby Jacob. “They provide clients the peace of mind of knowing that the content of their mobile address book is protected and retrievable whenever they need it.”
MightyBackup currently comes pre-loaded on the LG Muziq and Samsung r610 phones from Bell Mobility. Users can sign up for the service, listed on their handset menus as “Backup Manager,” at a cost of C$3.00 per month.
