American hardware vendor, Dell, has signed an agreement with Tesco, a UK-based retail chain, that will bring Dell’s entire catalog of products to stores in Britain, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic by the end of this week.
Tesco stores welcome a total of more than 13 million shoppers each week.
Dell, which previously sold its products to end users by mail order only, has now signed product distribution agreements with chain stores like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Staples in North America, Gome in China, and Bic Camera in Japan. Some Dell laptops are also being offered as incentives to Carphone Warehouse customers in the UK.
Dell products will soon be available in approximately 10,000 retail stores worldwide, according to the company’s general manager of professional products, Mark Omerod.
