Email the Most Demanded Mobile Internet Service, Says Webcredible
7:00 am on January 30, 2008 | Category: Cell Phones, Email, Web Services, Wireless
Wireless email is currently the most desired mobile internet service among cell phone users, according to a recent study by Webcredible, an online usability and accessibility specialist.
33% of survey respondents identified email as their number-one priority, versus 25% for social networking, the second most selected option. 20% of those surveyed picked local information search as their most desired application, while 13% identified travel and route-planning information. Only 9% expressed a keen interest in shopping using their mobile phones.
In the coming months, Webcredible expects mobile social networking to rival email as the most desired application. This trend will be driven by improvements in the usability of social networking websites on small screens, as the owners of such sites increasingly target wireless users.

I’ve found that meemo.com offers a pretty good solution. They seem to be one of the better solutions using sms technology. But still nothing close to a blackberry.

Hey,
I’m going travelling – just finished school round two!! – and I need to know what to do with my phone (because I’m locked into this stoooopid plan), because I want mobile email. I visited Meemo.com, and I’m trying the free trial now, but is this the only product on the market at this price that does mobile email? Anyone? Blog moderator? Email me back if you know! It’ll come to my phone!
