The British Broadcasting Company has recreated its popular mobile internet site, bbc.co.uk, to better appeal to the growing number of small-screen wireless internet users.

The new and improved website is based on the same design as the existing BBC website, adding more colour and interactive elements that take greater advantage of the colour screens and mobile data connections that come standard with most new cell phones.

The upgrades will allow mobile web users to download specific content from sporting events such as the upcoming Summer Olympics, as well as this summer’s Wimbledon tennis championships. The site also includes a section dedicated to BBC Radio 1’s Newsbeat, offering entertainment, news headlines, and pictures.

The BBC’s mobile site currently receives more than 2.7 million unique visitors each month, making it Britain’s most popular mobile-specific website, aside from portals operated by wireless carriers themselves.

    1. Every year tennis players and lovers are gathered in one of the most interesting tennis championships and it becomes a real chance for entertainment and pleasure. It’s Wimbledon which is the oldest major championship in tennis. This is more than a century and this championship is always gathering and attracting tennis audience from all around the world. Year after year attendance is increasing and it becomes so hard to get a ticket and prices become so high. As I’m a tennis lover, I do wait for the major events without patience. Lately, I discovered an important site where to compare ticket prices for free and I find it great idea because this way one could see prices offered by ticket brokers.
