Perlico Launches Pay-As-You-Go Broadband Service in Ireland
3:15 am on March 5, 2008 | Category: Telecom Services, Internet
Irish internet service provider, Perlico, has launched its own ‘pay-as-you-go’ broadband service, offering always-on DSL service for just €0.01 per MB downloaded.
“The pay as you use product allows our customers to have increased, direct control over the cost of their broadband,” commented Perlico’s head of marketing, Niamh McDonough. “This approach, unique in the Irish market, allows customers full transparency when it comes to paying for their broadband.”
“This new product, together with our other cost-saving packages, demonstrates our ongoing commitment to transform the Irish telecoms and broadband market. Switching from other, higher-cost providers is easy and can be completed in minutes,” McDonough went on to say.
But Perlico isn’t the only ISP to experiment with new billing options. Last week wireless voice and data carrier, 3, launched its own prepaid broadband offering, selling 24-hour, 7-day, or one-month blocks of high-speed access for €5, €10, and €25, respectively. The company is targeting students, business travelers, and recent immigrants who may not yet qualify for a home broadband subscription.
