AT&T U-verse and Verizon FiOS Begin Offering Lifetime HD
6:15 am on April 18, 2008 | Category: Telecom Services, Television
America’s two leading fiber-optic television providers, Verizon and AT&T, began offering a high-definition version of Lifetime TV’s core cable channel earlier this week, as part of their respective pay-TV services.
Both Verizon FiOS and AT&T’s U-verse TV service have carried the Lifetime Movie Channel in HD format since last year.
The availability of these channels in high-definition gives the fiber-optic offerings an edge over established satellite TV operators, DirecTV and DISH Network, neither of which carry any HD Lifetime content.
