Canadian phone and wireless giant, Bell Canada, has started delivering full episodes of several popular HBO television shows to its mobile TV customers, as part of an exclusive supply agreement with the American specialty network.
Bell Mobility subscribers can now watch on-demand episodes of shows like “The Sopranos,” “Entourage,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” “Tell Me You Love Me,” and “Sex and the City” on compatible cellular phones at a cost of just C$10 per month, plus browser usage fees.
The HBO subscription package also comes with the ability to view HBO previews, trailers, bonus footage, and stand-up comedy content. In addition to this, users can purchase specialized images, ringtones, and voicetones.
“This agreement exemplifies our goal to grow our profile in the international marketplace through digital platforms,” said the senior vice president of HBO International, Stanley Fertig.
Bell’s English-language HBO product was launched throughout Canada on April 1, and will be followed by a dubbed-over French-language version coming sometime next month.
