Windstream Boosts Broadband Speeds
6:10 am on April 30, 2008 | Category: Telecom Services, Internet
Windstream Communications, a Little Rock, Arkansas-based telecom carrier, has increased the data transmission speeds available on its wireline broadband network.
Windstream now offers a 12-Mbps DSL service in certain parts of its 16-state footprint, and has expanded the availability of its 6-Mbps and 3-Mbps DSL plans, making the 3-Mbps option available to virtually all of its high-speed internet customers. The reason for the bandwidth extension is a sharp increase in demand, according to the company’s Chief Marketing Officer, Ric Crane.
“Windstream experienced a four-fold increase in internet usage in 2007 as our broadband customer base grew 28% year-over-year,” Crane explained.
