Buffalo Technology, a subsidiary of Japan’s Melco Holdings Inc., has announced the impending launch of a “wireless-N” Ethernet converter, allowing users to connect wired entertainment devices to a wireless home network.

The WLI-TX4-AG300N converter can be used to integrate up to four Ethernet-equipped wired devices (including printers, game consoles, etc.), into a home Wi-Fi network. It is based on draft 802.11n Wi-Fi technology, allowing even high-definition content to be streamed.

“As user demand for wireless technology continues to increase and manufacturers migrate towards this format, we recognize that many users might be concerned about the previous investment they have made in wired devices”, commented Kevin Vine, Buffalo’s sales and marketing director for Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. “This new product protects their investment by utilizing the latest technology to allow them to enjoy their multiple entertainment devices wirelessly.”

Buffalo plans to launch the device next month in Britain, at a retail cost of around £55.99.
