Adobe to Release Photoshop Application for Smartphones
6:25 am on August 27, 2008 | Category: Web Services, Software
Software giant, Adobe, has announced that it is launching a mobile version of its popular Photoshop software in September, in hopes of appealing to the ever-growing market of smartphone users.
The new mobile app doesn’t facilitate direct mobile editing of photos but does allow users to upload photos to their Photoshop.com accounts at the click of a button.
“Our customers are spending more time online and we want to help them stay connected with their favorite people and memories,” said Adobe’s vice president and general manager of Consumer and Hosted Solutions, Doug Mack. “The introduction of Photoshop.com membership means photos and videos are accessible from virtually anywhere and we’re no longer limited to what we can fit into ‘the box.’”
The Photoshop.com application will be compatible with a range of smartphones, including the Motorola Q, Samsung BlackJack, and various Palm Treo models.
