Videotron Launches Caller ID Feature on TV
5:45 am on August 11, 2008 | Category: Telecom Services, Telephone, Television, VoIPQuebec’s leading cable operator, Videotron, is launching a new service allowing subscribers to view caller ID data on their TV screen.
Videotron currently serves some 1.7 million cable TV customers, as well as 742,900 digital phone users. The new caller ID feature will cost an additional $2 per month by itself, and is available at no extra cost with a $10/month telephony features package (including caller ID, voicemail, voice messages by email, call waiting, call forwarding, and three-way calling).
“More than 50% of our customers subscribe to two or more of our services, so offering new ways to blend those services into new experiences across devices highlights our focus on convergence and leadership in service innovation,” said Videotron’s vice president of technology development, Michel Allard, in a statement.
The TV caller ID feature is made possible by Integra5′s Converged Services Platform. A similar feature is already being offered by U.S. cable companies, Time Warner and Cablevision Systems, at no extra charge.
