Verizon Launches FiOS TV Service in Buffalo, New York

Verizon Communications lit up its much-anticipated FiOS TV network in the Buffalo, New York metropolitan area on Monday, pitting itself against incumbent pay-TV provider, Time Warner Cable.
Verizon FiOS is now available to 60,000 homes in the Buffalo suburbs of Amherst, Hamburg, Orchard Park, and Tonawanda, marking its first launch in the state outside of the New York City metropolitan area.
The service being offered includes 100 HD channels. Verizon’s triple-play Freedom Bundle, which includes voice, video, and data service, is currently available at $99.99/month in the Buffalo area. Users who sing up before October 4 will receive a year of DVR service at no extra charge.
