Verizon has made good on its promise to make its FiOS TV service available in Washington this week, launching the pay-TV offering, complete more than 250 channels, in King and Snohomish counties on Tuesday.

So far, the service is only being offered in unincorporated parts of Snohomish County, as well as the incorporated communities of Everett, Edmonds, Lynnwood, Bothell, Brier, and Woodway. Verizon plans “rapid expansion” of FiOS into more areas in the near future.

Washington the 14th state where Verizon actively competes with incumbent cable providers in the home television market.

“Based on consumer reaction in states where we already offer FiOS TV, we expect a huge wave of customers to choose (it) as the better choice to their previous TV provider,” commented Verizon’s senior vice president for the Northwest region, David Valdez.
