Verizon Communications is attempting to lure Spanish-speaking users to its FiOS TV service, by offering its 25-channel ‘Spanish Language Pack’ to new subscribers in five states, at no extra charge for the first year.
The promotion, which includes access to channels like ESPN Deportes, CNN en Español, Discovery en Español, MTV Tr3s, and Toon Disney Español, will be available to new customers that sign up by November 7.
The offer is available only in California, Texas, Florida, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, excluding the large Hispanic population of states like New York.
Verizon spokeswoman, Deidre Mulcahv, said that the company had no plans to extend the promotion beyond its current five-state range, but added that “Verizon evaluates our promotions on an ongoing basis.”
