The CEO of AT&T’s wireless division, Ralph de la Vega, has taken lead of the telecom giant’s fixed-line telephone operations as part of a company-wide management shuffle.

The reorganization is intended to make it easier for AT&T to coordinate its mobile and fixed-line businesses, while responding to the competitive threat of triple-play cable companies.

Ronald Spears, who has been in charge of global business services, will be transferred to lead the AT&T’s expanded business division as part of the reorganization, while John Stankey will become chief executive of the company’s technology operations.
