Fixed mobile convergence (FMC) startup, Kineto Wireless, has received $15.5 million in private equity funding from a number of investors, including Motorola, Oak Investment Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures, Venrock, Seapoint Ventures, and InterDigital.

Kineto Wireless is a Milpitas, California-based company, whose unlicensed mobile access technology provides a bridge between cellular and Wi-Fi networks, and is used in T-Mobile’s HotSpot@Home product.

Kineto’s next goal is to invest in the market for femtocells — mini cellular basestations that hook into any broadband internet connection, and help to improve in-home cellular coverage.
