TiVo Inc., a pioneer in the thriving Digital Video Recorder market, has teamed up German software developer, Nero AG, to develop a product that allows users to record TV programming onto a Personal Computer.

Nero LiquidTV/TiVo PC brings all the digital recording feature of TiVo to Windows XP/Vista-equipped PCs, making it possible to watch and pause live TV, or record shows directly onto a computer hard drive for later use. The software allows content to be transferred between computers over a home network, exported to other devices (Apple iPods, Sony PlayStations, etc.), or burned onto DVDs.

“With Nero LiquidTV/TiVo PC, we are providing a next-generation DVR application that integrates the renowned TiVo service with the PC,” commented Nero CEO, Udo Eberlein. “This solution is truly a platform on which our vision for liquid media — where content can be easily accessed anytime, anywhere, and on any device — will become a reality.”

The software will go on sale throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico on October 15, at a cost of $199, which includes a one-year subscription to TiVo.
