Weather forecast provider, AccuWeather, has launched a new software application for the Apple iPhone device which provides users with radar and satellite weather maps, as well as hour-by-hour local forecasts.

The free AccuWeather application uses the iPhone’s GPS functionality to determine a user’s location and retrieve local forecasts for locations “from coast to coast and around the world.”

The service allows users to see if severe weather such as snow, ice, rain, or wind is approaching, and view local 6-hour, 5-day, and 15-day forecasts.
