Wi-LAN Inc., a Canadian wireless technology company and holder of numerous patents, has signed a multi-year licensing agreement allowing South Korea-based consumer electronics giant, Samsung, to make use of its intellectual property.

“Signing this license agreement with Samsung, a dominant global vendor of wireless handsets, is another very important milestone for our licensing program,” said Wi-LAN CEO, Jim Skippen, in a statement.

Wi-LAN did not disclose specific terms of the agreement with Samsung, but released a very strong revenue outlook earlier in the week, predicting a 28 to 38 percent increase in annual revenue, despite the ongoing economic recession. The company expects to generate sales of $30 to $34 million for the current fiscal year (ending in October), up from $26.6 million last year.
