Option Technologies Applies Wireless Technology to Presentations

1:31 pm on May 25, 2009 | Category: Wireless Technology

For some time now, wireless technology has been recognized as a convenient way to communicate over long distances. In the last few years, feature-rich smartphones, wireless broadband services, and mobile multimedia have impressed consumers and had a profound impact on the way we live our lives.

But it’s easy to forget some of the simple, practical benefits of basic wireless technology, particularly in academic and enterprise settings. One such benefit is the ability to interact with a live audience and receive feedback while giving a presentation.

Corporate leaders, professors, teachers, and other presenters can do just that using the group response system offered by Option Technologies. The company’s product allows audience members to respond to questions, prioritize goals, or vote on candidates in real time, allowing all attendees to participate without necessarily needing to raise their hands and speak.

Not only is this technology an effective time saver – it has also proven to improve audience attentiveness by as much as 88%. Information retention is also increased by audience participation, sometimes by as much as 27%.

Option Technologies offers a wide range of audience response equipment, which can be customized using a variety of add-on modules. Each system includes the company’s OptionPower software, which integrates seamlessly with Microsoft PowerPoint, allowing presenters to incorporate audience input into a PowerPoint presentation in real time.

Option also offers a choice of five wireless audience response keypads, ranging from the tiny, five-button ‘Micro’ device to the far more complex, 21-button ‘IQ’ keypad. Display capability ranges from a single red/green indicator light to a 100-character LCD screen. All of the devices are covered by a 2-year warranty.

Option indents to showcase its software and keypads at the upcoming InfoComm 2009 show in Orlando, Florida, from June 17 to 19.
