Palm Fans Flock to Sprint Nextel Stores for Pre Smartphone

Palm’s new smartphone, the Pre, drew small crowds to a number of Sprint Nextel retail stores on Saturday morning, as fans of the Palm brand sought to get in on the ground level of what could be a new trend.

Analysts describe Palm Pre sales as “solid” during is first weekend on the market, with tight supplies selling out quickly at Sprint stores across America.

Both Palm and Sprint are counting on the Pre to boost drooping sales, and help them compete with the Apple iPhone, which is currently offered exclusively by AT&T in the U.S. market.
