Rogers Wireless Launches First Sony Ericsson Smartphone

Sony Ericsson has entered the Canadian smartphone market for the first time, allowing Rogers Wireless to begin marketing its XPERIA X1 device.

The XPERIA X1, which was released in the U.S. in February, features a three-inch (800 x 480 pixel) touchscreen display, sliding QWERTY keyboard, and Windows Mobile 6.1 operating system. Other highlights include a music and video player, microSD slot, advanced GPS functionality, and a 3.2-megapixel digital camera.

The device is now available to Canadian customers, starting at $249.99 on a three-year Rogers Wireless contract.
