Cell phone operator, Bell Mobility, is already seeing “unprecedented demand” for the new Palm Pre device, a week before its scheduled launch in Canada.

The list of customers who have expressed interest in the Pre “grows every day,” according to Bell marketing director, Claire Gilles, who has called this “the most important launch in Bell’s history.”

IDC Canada analyst, Kevin Restivo, also has a positive outlook on the Pre.

“Palm is coming to market with the Pre when people are adopting smartphones en masse,” Restivo noted. “It’s a rising tide that lifts all ships.”

The Palm Pre still trails its main competitor, the iPhone 3GS, in terms of customer satisfaction, but it seems poised to make a splash in the Canadian market nevertheless.

    1. Phone is great but the Bell’s wireless internet very, very slow! It is actually 7 times slower than Rogers. When we going to have real competition in this country?
