Tom Tom Launches Navigation App for Apple iPhone
3:19 pm on August 17, 2009 | Category: Mobile Devices, Software
GPS device maker, Tom Tom, has released a new 3D navigation application for Apple iPhone users in Canada and the U.S.
The software has a number of high-tech features including voice commands, automatic re-routing, and so called ‘IQ Routes,’ which calculate the best route based on the experience of millions of Tom Tom drivers. Users can choose either landscape or portrait navigation views and even customize colour settings based on day or night.
This convenient product has drawn generally positive reviews so far, although its high price tag has attracted some criticism. At $99.99, the new software is only slightly less expensive than some of Tom Tom’s standalone GPS devices. But with a built-in market of millions of iPhone and iPod Touch users, the company stands to make a healthy profit.
