Analyst Expects 10 Android-Based Motorola Handsets

American cell phone manufacturer, Motorola, will introduce at least 10 devices based on Google’s Android operating system within the next 10 months, according to new predictions by Global Equities Research analyst, Trip Chowdhry.
Chowdhry expects the new handset to range in price from $39 to $399, as Motorola aggressively tries to increase its market share.
Motorola, which held some 20% of the global cell phone market just three years ago, accounted for just 5.5% of handset sales in the second quarter of 2009. The company is hoping to reverse this trend by cornering the market for Android-based smartphones. The first of these devices, the Motorola Cliq, was unveiled earlier this month and is expected to hit the market by the end of this year.
