LG Electronics to Launch Android-Based Smartphone by End of Year

The LG-GW620 device will feature a sliding QWERTY keyboard and 3-inch touchscreen display, as well as built-in social networking features, which will put it in direct competition with Motorola’s forthcoming Android-based handset.
“Our objective is to provide a wide selection of smartphones to satisfy the diverse preferences of today’s consumers,” commented LG president and CEO, Dr. Skott Ahn. “This Android phone is just one of many smartphone models we plan to introduce worldwide in the years ahead.”
The GW620 will make its debut in select European markets in the fourth quarter of this year. Exact availability and pricing details have not yet been released.
