Managed Wi-Fi Security Market to Grow 27% Annually Through 2014
6:00 am on September 22, 2009 | Category: Business, Wi-Fi, Wireless Technology
The wireless network security market will grow three-fold over the next five years, demonstrating a compound growth rate of 27% and generating $1-billion in annual revenue by 2014, according to projections by ABI Research.
“The managed wireless security services growth rate is quite dramatic,” noted ABI vice president, Stan Schatt. “It’s due to the explosive growth of large WLAN deployments. As these grow, organizations in certain markets such as health care and hospitality are finding it more efficient to outsource their security management rather than to do it themselves. That’s particularly true of institutions that have many smaller branches without trained IT personnel.”
Schatt says that network security providers have “an absolutely incredible opportunity” to serve small- and mid-sized businesses as they increase their Wi-Fi usage and see the benefits of having their wireless security managed for them.
