8:48 pm on September 10, 2009 | Category: Mobile Devices, Cell Phones
American handset giant, Motorola, has unveiled its first Google Android-based smartphone, the ‘Cliq,’ promising international availability by the end of this year.
Designed to compete with the Apple iPhone and Palm Pre, the Motorola Cliq will feature a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen display, as well as built-in Wi-Fi and 3G broadband technology. It will feature full integration with a number of social networking services (including Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter), allowing users to combine all of their social networking contacts into a single list.
The Cliq will also come with a more advanced camera than most smartphones, with a resolution of 5-megapixels and the capability to shoot video at 24 frames-per-second.
The Cliq will be available through T-Mobile in the United States. In Europe, it will be branded the ‘Dext,’ and sold by Telefonica in Spain and Orange in France and the UK. Pricing information has not yet been released.
