Research In Motion is working on a new and improved version of the BlackBerry Tour, code-named the BlackBerry Essex, according to a report on CrackBerry.com.

The Essex will have the same look and features as the Tour, but with the added benefit of built-in Wi-Fi, as well as a new touch-sensitive track pad. Like the Tour, it will be a ‘world phone,’ with the ability to roam on both GSM and CDMA-based networks.

The added features will undoubtedly stir up interest in the BlackBerry Essex, but for users who have already purchased a non-Wi-Fi-enabled Tour, this news is understandably frustrating.
