Sabse Technologies Acquires VoIP Startup, Mobivox

Mountain View, California-based VoIP operator, Sabse Technologies, announced today that it has acquired Canadian VoIP startup, Mobivox, for an undisclosed sum.
Sabse, which is co-owned by Hotmail co-founder Sabeer Bhatia, is seeking to consolidate smaller VoIP companies into a serious industry contender. Earlier this year, it acquired Jaxtr, a startup offering IP-based calls through social networking websites.
Sabse now plans to integrate Mobivox’s technology into its own service, retaining most if not all of the smaller company’s employees.
“The Mobivox platform and patent portfolio adds to Sabse’s offering by providing a proven voice-interface-programming language, in-the-cloud contact book storage along with network-agnostic telephony integration,” Sabse said in a statement. “Additionally, Mobivox brings a very deep team of speech developers that combined bring more than 100 years of expertise.”
