South Korean handset giant, Samsung Electronics, is updating its Omnia series of mobile phones with four new products expected to hit the market next month.
The new phones will include the Omnia II (a direct successor to the original Omnia device), the Omnia Lite (a cheaper and simpler alternative), and two newly-announced Omnia Pro smartphones targeted at higher-end enterprise users.
The Omnia Pro B7330 will feature a slim, BlackBerry like form factor with built-in QWERTY keyboard, 2.6-inch TFT display, and a 3-megapixel digital camera.
The Omnia Pro B7610, meanwhile will have a larger (3.5-inch) touchscreen display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and 5-megapixel camera. It also comes equipped with separate ‘Work’ and ‘Home’ modes, for customers that use a single phone for business and personal purposes.
“The Samsung Omnia series is one of the most important additions to our portfolio, and demonstrates our commitment to the smartphone market,” commented Mark Mitchinson, vice president of Samsung Mobile for the UK and Ireland. “The high performance devices, coupled with the new Windows 6.5, make the new Omnia series a compelling choice for anyone that wants a device that brings their work and personal life together.”
