WIND Mobile to Open Call Center in Peterborough, Ontario

Aspiring Canadian cell phone operator, WIND Mobile, has revealed plans to open a call center in Peterborough, Ontario, creating 40 jobs immediately and as many as 200 jobs over the next year.
WIND, which is owned by Globalive Wireless, is currently building wireless networks in five Canadian cities and expects to begin offering cell phone services by early 2010.
The company already employs 250 people in Canada and plans to hire an additional 2,000 and make capital investments of $1 billion within the next year.
“As a new wireless company that is in the process of preparing for launch, I am thrilled that WIND Mobile has chosen our community and our people to help them build their business,” commented Peterborough’s Member of Parliament, Dean Del Mastro.
