Aspiring Canadian wireless carrier, DAVE Wireless, announced today that it has signed a multi-year roaming agreement with established rival, Rogers Wireless, which will allow its customers to access voice and data services nationwide.

DAVE purchased $243 million worth of spectrum licenses at the Canadian government’s wireless airwaves auction last year, and plans to launch its own 3G network in a number of urban centers. The new carrier expects to begin serving Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Calgary in January.

“DAVE Wireless is building our own 3G network in major metropolitan areas,” confirmed the company’s president, Dave Dobbin. “As part of our promise to deliver value, simplicity and flexibility to our customers, we needed a high-quality partner to provide our customers voice and data roaming services when they travel outside our coverage areas.”
