12:55 pm on October 15, 2009 | Category: Cell Phones, Mobile Devices
Research In Motion has unveiled a new version of its BlackBerry Storm device, in a bid to compete more effectively with the Apple’s popular iPhone 3GS this holiday season.
The BlackBerry Storm2 will retain the same look and feel as its predecessor, but will feature an improved touchscreen display, enabling faster typing and iPhone-like “multitouch” capabilities. Another notable improvement is the presence of Wi-Fi technology, which the first Storm lacked.
Vodafone has already announced plans to launch the Storm2 in a number of European markets this fall, and Verizon Wireless is widely expected to carry the device in the United States.
