Wireless giant, Bell Mobility, formally introduced its new HSPA mobile broadband network and with it the Apple iPhone today, radically changing the competitive landscape in Canada’s smartphone market.
Bell announced that it is now selling the 16GB model of the iPhone 3GS for $199 on a three-year voice and data contract costing at least $45 per month. The 32GB version is available for an additional $100.
Bell claims that its mobile broadband service covers 93% of the Canadian population, covering four times as many people as Rogers’ HSPA network.
Tomorrow, Telus will become the third HSPA carrier in Canada, when it begins offering mobile broadband services over the $1 billion network built jointly with Bell.
