Google has announced the launch of free Wi-Fi hotspots at 47 U.S. airports, allowing travelers to communicate more conveniently over the holiday season.
The airport Wi-Fi service will be available at no charge from today until January 15. At two of the participating airports (Seattle and Burbank), the service will be available indefinitely.
Google is also making good on a promise to provide free in-flight Wi-Fi access to Virgin America passengers. Virgin normally charges between $5.95 and $12.95 per flight for Wi-Fi access, but thanks to the Google promotion, it will be available at no cost through January 15.
