Satellite radio provider, SIRIUS Canada, has launched the first official satellite radio application for Canadian iPhone users.
The new application, now available for free through Apple’s iTunes App Store, allows SIRIUS subscribers to enjoy the company’s extensive selection of satellite radio programming.
“We’re excited to launch the first official satellite radio app in Canada and give SIRIUS subscribers a new way to enjoy SIRIUS’ unbeatable content on their iPhone and iPod Touch,” commented SIRIUS Canada president and CEO, Mark Redmond. “With the iPhone available from multiple carriers in Canada, this is a great opportunity for device users who are not yet subscribers to sample the incredible range of sports, news, talk, entertainment and commercial-free music programming available on SIRIUS.”
The iPhone application comes with some unique benefits, including a feature to ‘tag’ songs on the radio for later purchase via Apple iTunes, and the ability to quickly surf through SIRIUS programming on the go using the iPhone’s innovative multi-touch interface.
A similar SIRIUS radio application in the United States was downloaded more than 1 million times its first two weeks of availability.
