Bell Mobility has followed the lead of its retail partner, WirelessWave, in discounting the Palm Pre device to $0.00 on a three-year wireless contract.

This represents a massive subsidy on the Pre, which still retails for $599.95 without a contract. By discounting the device so heavily, Bell is likely trying to lock in as many customers as possible before facing increased competition from new wireless carriers such as WIND Mobile, Public Mobile, and Shaw Communications.

Bell is also offering aggressive new subsidies on the BlackBerry Bold 9700 and BlackBerry Storm devices, which now retail for $149.95 and $0.00, respectively on a three-year voice and data contract.
