The government of New Brunswick has agreed to help a Research In Motion subsidiary create up to 50 new jobs in the province.

Chalk Media Corp., which designs hardware and software for the Waterloo Ontario-based BlackBerry manufacturer, will receive up to $800,000 in payroll rebates to create new positions in its hometown of Fredericton. The company was purchased by RIM about a year ago and already employs upwards of 70 people.

New Brunswick Premier, Shawn Graham, says that Chalk’s growth demonstrates that the province is home to technological innovation and productivity.
