Yellow Pages Group, the Montreal-based company responsible for Canada’s commercial telephone directories, is seeking to increase its online presence with the purchase of a number of websites.

The company announced today that it had acquired Clear Sky Media Inc., which owns shopping-related websites including RedFlagDeals.com and PriceCanada.com. RedFlagDeals is a highly-popular online coupon portal, which receives an estimated 2.2 million unique visitors a month, and commands “an increasingly important share of consumer-related traffic,” according to a Yellow Pages press release.

In another deal announced today, Yellow Pages has agreed to purchase 411.ca, an internet-based commercial directory that generates about 13 million queries a month, giving it a 10% share of Canada’s online directories market.

Financial terms of the two transactions were not released.
