Canadian wireless operator, Telus Mobility, has begun offering the Motorola Backflip, the third Google Android-based smartphone to join its lineup.
The Backflip features a 3.1-inch high-resolution touchscreen display, folding QWERTY keyboard, 5-megapixel digital camera, and Motorola’s one-stop social networking platform, MotoBlur. Telus is selling the phone for $249.99 on a three-year contract or $399.99 on a month-to-month basis.
Telus’ other Android-based products include the HTC Hero and Motorola Milestone, which it launched in November and February, respectively.
Rival carrier, Rogers Wireless, offers the HTC Magic and HTC Dream handsets, while Bell Mobility carries the Samsung Galaxy, giving all three major Canadian carriers a foothold in the Android smartphone market.
