Manitoba will become the next Canadian province to require ten-digit dialing, with a second province-wide area code set to be introduced in November 2012.

The existing ’204′ area code is expected to run out of numbers sometime in 2013, meaning that a new prefix — ’431′ — will have to be introduced, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission confirmed today.

Beginning on October 20, 2012, callers in Manitoba will have to dial ten digit numbers, even when making local calls.
