Broadband

  • Broadband is a general term for any technology that transfers data over a broad bandwidth connection. Such a connection allows for much higher transmission speed and quality than dialup, its low bandwidth equivalent.
  • Broadband technology can be used for a variety of different purposes, including high speed internet access (via Cable, DSL, T1, T3, etc.), and VoIP (broadband phone) connections.
