  • Web browsers are software applications which translate HTML (hypertext markup language) into recognizable web pages, allowing users to browse the internet.
  • The first modern web browsers were created in 1993, and have been continually updated, advanced, and improved since that time.
  • The two most popular web browser currently in use are Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox, an open-source alternative browser with about 12% of the overall market.
